Father/Daughter Spring Retreat

Bring your daughter to camp for a special and memorable weekend of fun outdoor activities together at Haycock. Strengthen your bond with each other and have unforgettable experiences together!

Who can come to camp?

This retreat is designed for girls ages 7-16 to attend a weekend at camp with their father, grandfather, or other male role model. Enjoy a weekend of fun, bonding, and Bible teaching together.

Activities

Our weekend activity times are structured for you to make the most of your time at camp! Most of our activities are scheduled as open session times, allowing you the freedom to choose what you want to do and come and go at your own pace. The following activities will be available during the weekend:

*Shotguns available to campers 11 and older.
***Sign-up required, weather permitting. Canoeing typically takes place on Sunday morning.

Schedule

Our Father/Daughter Spring Retreat offers a chance to try a variety of activities Haycock has to offer, as well as Bible lessons tailored towards fathers and daughters. Please note that specific details of the schedule may be subject to change.

what to bring

  • Clothing for formal dinner on Saturday.

Lodging

We provide rustic lodging options for our weekend retreats. Lodging available for the weekend is in our Stockade cabins, Lodge, and Lean To Sites. Bedding is not provided, so bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

For this weekend, girls stay separate from dads, with female counselors supervising them in the evenings. (Dads and daughters are together for the rest of the weekend.)

Please note that all of our lodging options feature bunk-style accommodations, with multiple sets of bunk beds in a room or cabin, and you may be sharing the space with other guests. If you are attending with a group of 4 or more, reach out to us about reserving a room by emailing [email protected].

Bathrooms

 Bathroom facilities are located in standalone washhouses located near lodging options, one in the Stockade cabins and one near the Lodge. Showers are available in the main wash house. None of our lodging options are equipped with running water.

Meals

Meals are provided from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch, and an evening snack is provided both Friday and Saturday evening. We provide several options during each meal, It is not always possible for camp to accommodate the needs of individual campers with significant dietary restrictions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time does camp start and end?

  • Check-in begins at 7:00 PM on Friday. Please note that dinner is not provided on Friday, so be sure to eat before you come to camp. The retreat ends at 1:00 PM on Sunday.

What should I wear for Saturday's formal dinner?

  • It’s up to you, but bring something nice. Often, girls bring dresses, makeup, and supplies to do their hair. Dads normally wear dress pants and a button-up shirt, although usually a few can be spotted wearing a suit!

Can my daughter and I stay together?

  • Due to the typical attendance of this program and the layout of Haycock’s lodging options, we are unable to provide private accommodations in the Lodge or cabins. Dads and daughters may stay together in the lean-tos.
